Ask an AB Bartender: Stephanie

11 Apr

Welcome to the first edition of “Ask an Amsterdam Bartender!” Each week, we’ll be asking the bartenders at Amsterdam Billiards the questions that you want answered.  This week’s interview is with the lovely Steph.  If you’d like your question’s featured on this section, send an email to jermilio@gmail.com with the subject line “Ask a Bartender”!

Q: Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with me, Steph. Let’s start off with an easy one: What’s your favorite drink?

Steph
: I’d say my favorite drink is usually Captain Morgan and Diet Coke: I like to keep it simple. If I’m feeling like it’s a whiskey night, there’s a drink that one of the bartenders here made called the “Danny Boy” – it’s Jameson, ginger, and soda with oranges and cherries. It’s delicious.

Q
: Do you have any good advice on treating a bad hangover?

Steph
: Honestly, I think the best advice is just to drink more. Basically, a hangover is just withdrawal from alcohol, so as long as you don’t go overboard, you might be better off drinking more.

Q
: What’s the best pick-up line you’ve ever gotten while working here?

Steph
: It’s funny you ask that: I actually got a pretty good one today. Three guys walked up to the bar, and one of them pointed to his friend and said “My buddy’s new in town, can you give him directions?” I asked, “Directions to where?” and he responded “To your heart.” It was corny, but kind of funny.

Q
: Lastly, one of our coworkers said you started a line of women’s apparel- is that true?

Steph
: Yeah, I actually have a line of bras and corsets, they’re all handmade and embellished with Swarovski and Czech crystals and chains. They’re very “Vegas”: really good for club-goers, bartenders and entertainers. They’re all custom made-to-order, and you can find them on my website,  www.slbellinger.com.
